Venus in excess and deficiency

For herbalist Sajah Popham, Venus rules the kidneys and the female reproductive system, and her nature is to relax. In excess the tissues grow too lax — leaks, heavy periods, prolapse, varicose veins; in deficiency too tense — painful periods, cramps, a tight urinary tract. The astrology is the old one: Lilly put Venus's diseases in the womb and the kidneys. His herbs are mostly tradition. Where they have been tested, vitex helps PMS (not “oestrogen dominance”), raspberry leaf made no difference to labour, and black cohosh did no better than placebo for hot flushes. For a leaking bladder, the best-tested remedy is pelvic floor training.

1647 Lilly puts Venus's diseases “principally in the matrix and members of generation; in the reins” — the womb and the kidneys

Venus retrograde and the stock market

Every 19 months Venus turns retrograde for about six weeks, and the financial astrologer Robert Weinstein found that when the S&P 500 sat at a record high, 9 of 10 of those retrogrades brought a fall. We retested his twenty retrogrades on the index's daily closes. Taken together they look like any other six weeks — but the ones that began near a record did end lower far more often than chance, two great bear-market bottoms fell within three days of Venus turning, and autumn 2026 brings a sky not seen since 1904.

Venus: the last Scorpio star point

Every 584 days Venus passes between the Earth and the Sun, and five of those meetings take almost exactly eight years — joined in order, they draw a pentagram around the zodiac. On 24 October 2026 the October point of that star falls at 0°45′ Scorpio: the last Venus star point in Scorpio until 2181. We computed the sky behind Gary P. Caton's interview, checked the history and the myth, and gathered what research says about Venus's domain of love, values and belonging.

Last until 2181 Venus meets the Sun at 0°45′ Scorpio on 24 October 2026
